We were all pretty excited to go, but since Hunter loves saying his alphabet...he was super excited when he saw the apple trees so he could just yell "A...for APPLE!!!! A! A! A!" Oh yes he was excited. This place is cool because you have to take a hayride to the orchard so it's kind of a double event in one. He kept looking up ahead to see if we were there yet (and refused to look at the camera...grrr). The hayride takes you past all their other fields of corn, pumpkins (in a couple weeks!!) strawberries, blueberries and peaches and he was fascinated with us telling him what each plant was.
He got really into the actual picking of the apples, even looking at them to pick just the right one. And he was so eager to go home and actually eat them! I mean, he likes apples anyway, but I think knowing that HE picked them himself made him really excited to have them! This was such a good experience because he actually got to SEE where the apples are grown and how they...come to be? I think it's really important for kids to know where their food comes from and not just that it magically appears at the grocery store.
He "cheesed" for me! Yay!! |
Look at all the fun events they have year round! Wow! |
You have a very nice activity with your family. You're son is very smart because he wants to know where his favorite fruit came from. I love apple pie too.
