Pretend City!

When I first heard about Pretend City, I was anxiously waiting for Will to start walking so I could take him. As lame as that sounds, it's true. I love miniature things. Who doesn't?! And then when I found out they had a pretend grocery store, it was all over... Just ask my mom, I LIVED in my Fisher Price kitchen when I was a kid. Then I would get upset when my friends would leave and leave me a mess in my kitchen... Wow...I guess times really haven't changed that much. Now everyone out of the kitchen!

Will is 14 months old now, and an avid walker. Actually, he prefers a brisk walk/run vs. a leisurely walk, unfortunately for me, who is constantly running after him. And be prepared to be shoved out of his way if he sees something he really wants. There's no stopping him and he'll be there in a blink of an eye. I was not surprised with how quickly we became acquainted with Pretend City's lay of the land. He spotted this car that he dragged and pushed around just about everywhere for the first half hour or so.

Then we moved on to the William Lyon miniature home. It's no secret that I've been eyeballing this mini leather chair at Target for Will. Then I saw the mini leather sofa and chair they had inside the mini-living room of this mini-home. So freakin' cute! Of course Will had to go into the two rooms he's not allowed in at our house - the bathroom and the kitchen. He had to open all of the drawers and cabinets of the kitchen, which is my least favorite activity at our house. And somehow he kept finding things to put into the mini-bathtub. Sorry to the Pretend City employee who had to unload his bath-loot.

We wandered through the grocery store and into the farm. I think we were at the farm for an hour and a half, at least. There were fruits and veggies to pick and put in baskets. Will is really into putting things into containers right now, so this was right up his alley. Then we had to take the fruit and veggies out of the basket and put them back where they belonged. And then we had to pick them again... you get the idea. There's also a little "dirt" area with trowels and shovels that you can dig and plant veggies in. He was the king of the digging area for quite some time.

It was a great way to spend a few afternoon hours on the cheap! Will's cheeks were so pink after running around non-stop for over two hours. We stopped to have a snack before we left, and he sucked down an entire juice cup! We will be back to Pretend City very soon. Maybe we'll make it over to the arts and crafts area this time...

  1. Sounds like a great place, I don't think we have anything similar up here in norcal. I bet he slept like a baby on the way home!

  2. I have a son the same age as Will, and have yet to head over to Pretend City. Seems like it's worth it!

Thanks for stopping by my blog!
