Friday Fave: Be-Band...or Bella Band

So

I thought I'd try a few new gidget gadget fandangally doos this pregnancy....one of them being the Bella Band.  I saw in Target (ahhhhhh....that was angels singing) that they have the Be-Band by Bella Band.  Basically lower cost and a little less....I dunno....stretchy? than the original.  But I thought I'd give it a whirl.

The claim is that you can wear the band to hold up you're unbuttoned pre preggo jeans, to hold up your too big maternity jeans, extra support in your last trimester, and that it will help skinny you post partum.  The first time I wore it I tried the first suggestion, wearing it to hold up your getting too tight unbuttoned pre-pregnancy jeans.  Ok, not only was I pulling up my pants all day, but there is something unsettlingly gross about walking around in public with your pants unbuttoned.  So for that use....thumbs down.

But I thought I'd give it another go and wear it over my still too loose maternity jeans.  For this, I give it a thumbs up.  I enjoy the "Secret Fit Belly" jeans by Motherhood and Pea in the Pod, and this band goes right over that and stays in place all day.  Wonderful!  No unbuttoned jeans, no pants falling down, no uncomfortable muffin top.

Obviously we'll have too wait to see if the second two uses work...I'm especially interested in the post-partum claim.  BUT.....for now....I'd give the Be-Band a thumbs up!  I haven't tried the Bella Band, but the BeBand is roughly $10 less the the Bella, and that's like 3 Tall Green Tea Soy Lattes!!!

  1. I bought one towards the end of my 2nd trimester. It was a godsend. I wore it throughout my 3rd trimester and it just helped me feel more secure and helped support the jumbo belly a little bit. It also helped smooth out the love handles in the back that inevitably muffin top even your maternity jeans, but from the back. I guess that's like a backwards muffin top...?

I wore it post-partum too. I loved it. Again, I felt it helped smooth my stretch mark ridden belly so you didn't see quite so much saggy baggy skin through my shirts and it helped me suck it in a little more. And it didn't make me as hot and uncomfortable as the Belly Bandit, although it offers much less support.

I've actually thought about buying one or two more now to wear just to help continue smoothing things out...it's like a mini version of Spanx...
