Anyways...back to Friday Fave...
We went to Tanaka Farms in Irvine, CA on Sunday. We went with my parents, sister, and of course Hubby and WEB. My sister's bf came along too, and boy was that a lifesaver for family pics with WEB. I had our photographer friend, Sheri Wade of Sheri Wade Photography, meet us there to take some family pics and get some more pics of WEB as he ages. I'm trying to get her to do a shoot with him every 6 months or so, and I somehow seem to always be a month late... Plus, it was a great opportunity to get the family together so my mom can get her picture of all of us well before Christmas for her Christmas card. It always seems to be scramble, so now it's done. YAY! Of course Hubby and my Dad were less than excited about taking pics, but I think they will turn out well...I'll post them when I get them from Sheri. Here's a sneak peek of one she emailed me... So cute! Hubby set up that little scene, too! Good job Hubby!
Anyways, it's a great farm! There were tons of pumpkins, a corn maze, a tractor/hay ride, and you could even pick some veggies - the beauty of living in SoCal...fruits and veggies are still growing. We wandered around for about an hour and a half with Sheri and the family. It's nice that it was nice and close for us. There's also another farm in Orange called Irvine Park that is supposed to be really great as well. Maybe we'll try that one next year. Everyone has been raving about it. Next year WEB will be able to run around and enjoy the festivities a little more so that might be the way to go.
I second what Lani said....seek out a local farm and support it! It's a cheap way to entertain your family and friends. Kids love it and will be entertained regardless...they play with boxes for crying out loud. Be sure to take your allergy medicine though...my eyes were watering non-stop while we were there and I was very sneezy!
Oh my goodness, look at that face! Too cute Heather! Love the set up way to go Dad! Sheri as always does such a great job on your photos.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to take a cruise to Tanaka Farms. Looks like a neat place.
