Whooooo's Turning One?

My little son!!!!  It's officially a month until Jagger's b-day party and I'm rockin' and rollin' on getting stuff ready!!  What a stress with interviewing for jobs, nannies (see more about that here), Sonny going through finals...and all the other stuff that comes with being a SAHM.  Really...it's not just a mom is it?  Maid, cook, performer, comedian, bad guy, good guy, and lady that keeps asking if people have pooped, have to poop, or are going to poop.  In the words of Fergie....Glamorous!

Anyway, despite all the day to day crazies, I managed to finish Jagger's invites right on time and get them out!  I finally settled on going with an outdoor theme, or forest theme, since little woodland critters seem to be a current obsession of mine.  Especially owls.  Love them!  They just make me feel good.  So whoooo better (haha...whooo...) to be on the front of his invites than my little friend, the owl!  Inniee cuuute??

I used existing green cards that I bought oh-so long ago, as well as the matching envelopes that went with them.  Then I got some paper from Michaels to create a decorative backing and the owl himself.  I had the brown paper used for the branch FROM MY WEDDING!!  Crazy right?  They sent the wrong color brown when I originally ordered the paper for my invites...so I had all this brown that I've been slowly using over the years.  Work whatcha got, right?

I used my new Cricut Expression....which I'm just absolutely in love with.  I can't believe I lived this long without it!  All my owls cut out in 2 minutes flat.  It would have taken 30 minutes with my other, not because it runs slower, but because I had to do so many extra steps!  I had to cut each 12x12 paper down to 6x12. Then I couldn't just choose a quantity on my little Cricut, but had to keep selecting what I wanted over and over.  Basically, the Cricut Expression makes me want to vomit with ease and excitement.

So I think they turned out pretty cute!  It sets the mood for the party without screaming "IT'S A WOODLAND THEME!!!!"  I now have to get together the other decorations, kid proof the majority of the house (since we've decided to have it inside the house this time vs. outside like Hunter's first bday..check that out here....it was our first post!!!), and start planning the menu!  I'm so excited!  I can't believe it's been a year since this!!
