Hunter loooooves his babysitter. He stares, he laughs, he claps his hands at everything the babysitter does. He doesn't even care that I leave the room for a couple minutes to clean something or fix my coffee. I hate to admit this....but my babysitter lives on a street in the hood with animals and giant birds and little annoying red talking monsters who can only speak in third person. Yup...it's Sesame Street.
I have to say that this is the most horrifyingly entertaining show on television. Hunter has gotten so into this show and I really don't know how I let it happen, but he just sits and stares in wonder at Elmo and Big Bird and how they are so upset that they can't figure out how 2 sodas plus 1 soda equals 3 sodas. It's mind bending to me....and come "Elmo's World" I'm ready to pull my hair out. But guess what? Hunter knows the letter C! You ask him where the C is and he points at it! That's right people, my baby sitter teaches as well as entertains.
I totally remember watching Sesame Street when I was little and being enthralled by the muppets and all their little adventures. What ever happened to Snuffalupagus? But now I just can't wrap my mind around it....which is odd because I am able to sit through a Spongebob marathon. There's just something about it that irks me.
But, reading Heather's post yesterday made me at least appreciate the show for giving me about a half hour to 45 minutes of time to drink my coffee, vacuum the floor, dust a little, just give me a little TIME. And it doesn't hurt that my one year old is at least LEARNING something. So I give in to the Sesame Street. I give in.....

We've only begun this addiction, but WEB loves Elmo because he's red, and my kid is in love with the color red. Yay for getting some time to do stuff!
