The Discovery Science Center has really outdone themselves. They brought the Star Wars Where Science Meets Imagination Exhibit to Orange County, CA. It is amazing. AMAZING!
I’ve become a Star Wars fan by marriage. I wasn’t a lover as a kid because, well, I’m a girl. I would’ve much rather planned Barbie & Ken’s wedding, or Skipper’s trip to the beach, than watch anything Sci-Fi. My Hubby, on the other hand, can recite all of the words to all 6 films. Will, our 2.5 year old, was born a fan. It was one of the first movies he would sit and watch a good chunk of. I was impressed & I think Hubby was proud. Ha!
We were invited to the Grand Opening event of this Star Wars exhibit at the Discovery Cube. WHAT A BLAST! First of all, there was a red carpet:
Oh, we we’re so fancy.
Before they opened up the exhibit, we got to visit with everyone…
Needless to say, we were thoroughly impressed even before checking out the exhibit. Will was SO excited to see them up close & personal.
This may or may not be our Christmas card this year:
On to the exhibit:
From costumes to AT-ATs to the Millennium Falcon, they’ve got it covered.
They even have great hands on exhibits where you can build your own droid and magnetic car and a few others. Great for busy little hands, and maybe some big kid hands, too.
And before you leave, you have to check this out:
Drive the Millennium Falcon? Don’t mind if I do!
The Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination exhibit is at the Discovery Science Center from now until April 15th, 2012. We’re already calendaring our next trip to see it. It was just too cool to see only once.
Oh! We are going to have to make a visit to the Discovery Cube in the next month or so. How very exciting.
