Crazy ideas for DIY projects tend to pop in my head... (You can see a DIY gone wrong over here) This was one of them after seeing this cool little wreath on CB2's blog (check out their photo on the right). Martha also has a lovely little recipe for her version of a snowball wreath.
Well, I decided to do my own thang (yes, I just said THANG! What?). I think I did pretty dang awesome!
Here's the list of supplies you'll need:
- Low Temp Foam Glue
- Hot glue gun - you need a glue gun that has a high and low temp setting. I didn't even know mine had this! The regular hot glue will just melt your Styrofoam into a hot mess, so you want it on the low setting with the low temp foam glue
- Foam Wreath Form - 12"
- 1" foam balls - 16 pack
- 1 1/2" foam balls - 2, 12 packs
- 2" foam balls - 2, 12 packs
- 2 1/2" foam balls - 2, 6 packs
- Clear plastic ornament balls - I used 7 and removed the metal hanging piece
- Ribbon - I used fancy red satin ribbon with wire.

Then get to work!
Hubby was kind enough to gently shove the clear ornament balls on the wreath form.
I secured them with glue around the rim after they were in place.
Love that Hubby put my foamy balls in mixing bowls. He knows how OCD I am about my crafts...
Making progress... Total, it took me a little over 2 hours from start to finish.
It takes some patience because you have to hold the important balls in place while the glue dries. It would also have been a little bit of a faster process had Will decided to stay in his bed...there was a lot of pauses to take him back to bed throughout the course of this project.

Almost done. A few minutes before I got to this point, I started using more of the bigger balls and saving the smaller ones to fill in gaps. Don't be afraid to slice off a little bit of the Styrofoam to help nestle your balls in a little closer. Because close nestled balls...are a good thing!
See? These are some cozy balls...
Now all it needs is a bow on top!
Here he is! (It's a he, obviously...on account of all of the balls) Hanging so nicely in our tiny hallway. I love walking by all day, everyday, seeing my fine craftsmanship! Just a constant reminder of how awesome I am...
I just made a loop with the ribbon so I could hang it up and secured it with glue on the back.
I tied the ribbon and then glued that on too. Easy peasy!
I think this is my favorite holiday craft, and probably the one I'm most proud of. What's yours?
